Outdoor family fun
Apple Scrapple Festival
This is small town charm at its finest. The Apple Scrapple Festival celebrates the blending of cornmeal, flour and buckwheat into a loaf of traditional "scrapple." This festival adds in apples for a touch of sweetness to the dish. Love it or hate it, there are plenty of ways for you and the kids to show your affection (or lack thereof) for the dish. Events include scrapple carving and scrapple chunkin', but if you'd rather not touch scrapple, there are plenty of carnival rides, kids' games, live entertainment and more to keep the entire family on the scrapple bandwagon.

World Championship Punkin Chunkin
Smashing pumpkins left on your neighbor's front porch is rude, but smashing pumpkins after they're launched from a massive catapult? Well, that's our idea of a good time. Bring the kids out for a little jack-o-lantern destruction at the annual World Championship Punkin Chunkin. Only the best chunkers will launch their way into fall fame. Plus, local bands, cook offs, pageants and more keep the festival chunkin' on.
Celebrate the days of yore with your kids at the Dover Days festival, where little ones can learn about the town's history and have a little fun in the process. The festival attracts thousands of visitors each year, thanks to a schedule that's sure to please almost any age group. Car shows, fireworks, carnival rides, maypole dancing and more bring patrons out to this bash year after year, now for 79 years!
Horseshoe Crab and Shorebird Festival
Welcome back the horseshoe crabs and shorebirds that make their way back to Milton each fall. Take a boat ride with the kids, then bring them back to the festival grounds for a series of games, rides, art exhibits and more among locals who have celebrated this festival for many years past.
