Just train fun

California State Railroad Museum
If your little ones are into trains (what kid isn't?), then board the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento. One of North America's most popular railroad museums, it features restored trains, exhibits, and special events.
Every weekend from April through September, you can also enjoy rides on a real steam locomotive. This six-building museum will guide you through railroad history in California and in the West, and educate visitors of all age on how railroads have changed the economy and people's lives.
Don't miss the expansive toy train exhibit, which features 1,000 vintage toy trains, six interactive displays, and a 3,300-square-foot toy train layout.
