Bear Creek Park
Bear Creek Regional Park and Nature Center is a gem of a park situated in the foothills of Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. Forests of Ponderosa Pine and scrub oak thickets complement open meadow areas and creeks that attract wildlife you'll spot while strolling the easy-to-navigate nature trails which are open for hiking, pets on leashes and horseback riding. The Nature Center offers year-round interpretive programs for all ages, and there is a covered pavilion area for group functions, as well as well-maintained tennis courts.

C. Scott Carpenter Park
Named after Boulder, Colorado's native son, NASA astronaut Scott Carpenter, this park offers space-themed equipment that kids love. A rocket-shaped jungle gym highlights this park that also has a beautiful outdoor pool with the Flatiron Mountains as a backdrop. You'll find easy access to the bike paths that wind through Boulder.

Spring Canyon Community Park
The Inspiration Playground at this 100-acre park was designed to be accessible with play surfaces that allow wheelchairs, walkers and support braces so that kids with or without disabilities can enjoy the sensory-rich playground structures together.

Located in Denver's south suburbs, Westlands Park has age-appropriate playground equipment to please toddlers to teens. There are water features, climbing structures and a tree house for imaginative play. Beautiful vistas of the Rocky Mountains and easy access to plenty of hiking and biking trails will make grown-ups happy.

Lake Pueblo State Park
The views are awesome! To the southwest it's the Greenhorn and Wet Mountain ranges, and to the north the towering Rocky Mountains. The park itself has 4,600 surface acres of water for recreational activities including sailing, motor-boating, waterskiing, river tubing and excellent fishing in the lake and along the 60 miles of shoreline. You'll find plenty of nature to explore, too, and visitors can turn a day at the lake into a mini-vacation with abundant camping facilities. Hiking, biking and picnicking are family favorites at Lake Pueblo.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park
Colorado's newest state park is nestled between the mountains that inspired "America the Beautiful" and the panorama of the Colorado Springs skyline. You'll see several eco-systems as you explore the more than 20 miles of hiking and biking trails that travel through 1,680 acres. A group activity center for weddings and parties of up to 200 people is also available. The visitor center invites you in for relaxation in front of the fireplace and gorgeous views through the walls of windows, or take part in environmental and educational programs that run all year. Campgrounds allow families to extend their stays overnight or for longer vacations.

Cherry Creek State Park
It's a spacious area considered a backyard by Denver residents, and anchored by an 880-acre surface reservoir set in a natural prairie environment. Cherry Creek State Park has unique amenities for Denver residents who appreciate the short drive to recreation. There's something for everyone: biking, boating, birding, camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking, jet skiing, swimming, volleyball, waterskiing... and those are just the fair-weather options! In winter months the park is a place for ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing, snow tubing and cross-country skiing. Model airplanes can even be flown in a designated area on the west side of the park, complete with asphalt runways and frequency posts.
